Action Contre La Faim is a humanitarian organisation recognised as being of public utility. Founded in 1979, the organisation operates in 50 countries in the fields of Nutrition, Health, Food Security and Livelihoods, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, and Mental Health and Care practices.

  • Remuneration: 118,184.00MZN (Gross monthly Income) and 13th Month paid in December (prorata depending on the starting date)

Specific objectives (not complete)

Objective 1: Ensure Effective Implementation of Nutrition and Health activities

  • Manage the implementation activities of the projects, ensuring alignment with ACF’s objectives and maintaining project quality.
  • Ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of planned activities within the project, promptly alerting the Field Coordinator of any delays or resource under-utilization. Analyze intervention area needs and collaborate with HoD to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide inputs for proposal design or adaptation.
  • Ensure the drugs availability inform and propose strategy in case of GAP at MB level;
  • Monitor and control monthly consumption of medical and nutritional supplies
  • Organize implementation of the projects activities (at Mobiles Brigades, health facilities and community).
  • Conduct regular follow-up on project budgets, adjusting as necessary, and seeking support for budgetary issues.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of news assessments, contributing essential information.
  • In collaboration with the MEAL, implement transparency and accountability measures to engage project beneficiaries throughout the project cycle.
  • Identify and address technical constraints in project implementation, implementing recommendations from authorities.
  • Coordinate with other departments for integrated program efforts.
  • Analyze and oversee technical performance and relevance of ongoing projects.
  • Conduct regular evaluations to assess program quality and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare systematic work plan to ensure conducting regular field visits to supported health facilities at least one field visit per month. Ensure preparation of the field visits report including gaps findings, immediate actions done and actions plan for improvement. Ensure archiving of the field visits reports.
  • Ensure effective internal coordination and information exchange for project implementation.
  • Ensure timely preparation and regular update of project’s detailed implementation Plan (DIP) and Project Procurement Plan (PPP) on monthly basis.
  • Contribute to the timely management timely budget follow-up, procurements, and HR needs in collaboration with relevant personnel.
  • Maintain tracking tools for health & nutrition activities (villages, mobile brigade, health facilities).

Objective 2: Capacity building of the Nutrition and Health team on health components (IMCI, Ante Natal, Post Natal’ primary health Care services and CMAM, Outbreaks…).

  • Collaborate with District Health Officers (DHOs) and Governorate Health Officers (GHOs) to conduct joint capacity assessments using supervision checklists to evaluate the quality of health service provision.
  • Maintain and regularly update the training database for health workers.
  • Ensure than supervision checklists are available for the supervisors.
  • Attend monthly meetings with responsible health workers to provide feedback on improvements, identify gaps, and ensure standardization of service provision and reporting.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of skills and performance for ACF nutrition/health team members under direct management to enhance their capacity.

Objective 3: Participate to the Development and Strengthening partnership at local level

  • Facilitate monthly or bi-monthly review and collaboration meetings with district/governorate health officers to analyze key findings, strategize for the upcoming months, and conduct joint supervision.
  • Ensure the effective management of ongoing partnerships with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) at the local level, adjusting partnership strategies as necessary in accordance with MoPH guidelines Sub-agreements and principles.
  • Work closely with MoPH to develop a comprehensive strategy for capacity building through supportive activities. Define essential indicators and objectives to guide the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of ACF’s supportive initiatives within its operational scope.
  • Foster a relationship with MoPH that reflects ACF’s partnership principles, emphasizing mutual trust, respect, shared objectives, complementarity, transparency, mutual support, and collaborative learning, consistent with ongoing policy development.
  • Technical contribution on assessment for new partners.

Objective 4: Ensure monitoring & evaluation and capitalization activities

  • Contribute to conduct regular (monthly) systematic and comprehensive analyses of the humanitarian situation related to nutrition, health, and the intervention context.
  • Collaborate with the Field Coordinator and Head of Nutrition and Health Department to contribute to the preparation of new projects. (preparing assessment tools with support of HoDDHoD and MEAL team…)
  • Provide regular analysis of the nutrition and health situation, identifying gaps.
  • Compile regular summaries of project indicators (activity progress reports, etc.), conduct analyses, and prepare necessary reports for the Field Coordinator, Head of Nutrition and Health Department, and partners.
  • Participate in the development and quality management of project capitalization activities (workshops, reports, lessons-learned, course corrections, etc.) in coordination with the HoD.

Objective 5: Participate in representation and coordination activities – internal and external

  • In coordination with the FC, manage partnerships with MoPH at the local level, ensuring effective collaboration and adherence to partnership agreements.
  • In coordination with the FC, represent ACF N&H sector in sub-clusters, authorities, humanitarian coordination’s.
  • Timely share pertinent information with the field manager in coordination with the HoD.

Objective 6: Proactivity support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity

  • Familiarize oneself thoroughly with ACF’s Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, seeking clarification or support as needed.
  • Implement all work-related activities with a gender, disability, and child protection lens, ensuring considerations for the diverse needs, concerns, and perspectives of our staff and beneficiaries.
  • Embed gender equity principles into all policies and activities to promote inclusivity and fairness.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive office environment where individuals feel respected and valued, regardless of gender or manageable disability.

Other tasks

Carry out any tasks, activities and or assignments delegated by your line manager when it is needed.

Skills required

  • Degree in Nutrition, Health
  • Experience in the humanitarian field and health/nutrition in the same position.
  • Experience in program implementation and management
  • Experience in Emergency response
  • Experience in evolution of needs
  • Good knowledge of medical products and supplies.
  • Good knowledge/skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good team spirit and ability to work under pressure
  • Good analytical capacity
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English. Fluent in Local Language (Changana, Chope) it is an advantage.
