What you will do:

The main objective for the Finance Manager position is to oversee financial setup according to NRC standards and to support programme/project implementation. The position holder will ensure that NRC Mozambique is well positioned to respond to current and future needs and shall demonstrate strong engagement and leadership in all major Finance actions while ensuring capacity building of Finance teams across the country.

1The purpose of the Logistic Manager is to be responsible that the logistic set up is according to NRC standard and to support programme/project implementation.

The following is a brief description of the role.

Generic responsibilities 

  1. Ensure that country set up comply with NRC Logistical Guidelines, NRC policies and donor requirements

  2. Implement NRC’s logistics systems and procedures and develop in country logistics policy documentation in line with NRC Global procedure

  3. Establish filing systems/archives according to NRC standards in all offices

  4. Initiate and maintain necessary leases, licenses and contracts with relevant authorities and suppliers

  5. Management of the logistics team 

  6. Training and support of line managers and staff with logistical responsibilities 

  7. Contribute to program and project design, including budget development and preparation.  Follow up and manage allocated budget lines.

  8. Oversight and coordination of market analysis by logistics staff to support project modality decisions with analysis of the functionality and accessibility of markets local to target populations.

  9. Provide audit and control checks within the country to ensure compliance to the logistics handbook 

  10. Ensure an anti-corruption focus in procedures and trainings

  11. Setup key performance indicators for all aspects of logistics activities and provide regular review, analysis and reporting against performance

  12. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Specific responsibilities 

  1. Ensure the timely delivery of logistics support services to all NRC MZ CO projects

  2. Support on and develop relevant logistics training including coaching of newly recruited senior Logistics staff in all Area Offices (AO).

  3. Ensure close and regular communication, coordination and planning with all logistics and program managers in all NRC (AO)

  4. Provide an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, through working across programme and support teams and the development of relevant guidance and SOPs.

  5. Contribute to the identification of opportunities to implement cash-based interventions and market-based programmes by participating in assessments and response analysis discussions.

What you will bring:

Generic professional competencies: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context

  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

  • Experience of data collection, analysis and report writing

  • Knowledge of market analysis tools and approaches

  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile 

  • Fluency in English both written and verbal 

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of Logistics Management in the Northern Mozambique; Cabo Delgado, Niassa and Nampula is an advantage

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal (working language of office).

  • Knowledge in Portuguese an advantage

  • Duty station: Pemba, Mozambique

  • Contract: 12 Months (Renewable)

  • Travel: 25% 

  • Salary/benefits: grade 9 on NRC’s International  salary scale.
