About the Role
The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within an organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and operational, leading a team of maintenance technicians to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure effective operation and minimal downtime.
- Supervise, mentor, and train maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for all equipment and facilities.
- Perform regular inspections and assessments of infrastructure, machinery, and equipment, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to prioritize maintenance requests and establish timelines for completion.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on performance metrics to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the maintenance team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, coordinating external service providers as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a maintenance or facilities management context.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to oversee a diverse range of maintenance tasks.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to ensure thorough and effective maintenance processes.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and software is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in maintenance, engineering, or facilities management.
- Experience in a specific industry such as manufacturing, hospitality, or healthcare is advantageous.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability practices in maintenance operations.
