Purpose of Job

To liaise with stakeholders, prepare documents, and analyse findings from marketing research related to brand visibility channels, communications, customer experience, pricing, value proposition, and other marketing activities/ results to enhance the positioning of Sasol products/ service offerings and support the business growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform Market and Customer scanning, maintain and update SWOT and PESTLE analyses.
  • Involved in Compiling and discussing the Marketing’s annual budgets required in Sales and Operational Planning (SOPS) and budget processes.
  • Compile, verify and publish Marketing and Sales weekly and monthly performance reports for management and board of directors.
  • Compile verify and publish quarterly board reports.
  • Assist with compiling and maintaining Market strategy.
  • Profile and segment customers based on strategy.
  • Provide support to Marketing personnel by preparing for crucial Customer and Intercompany negotiations and ad hoc projects that require analysis.
  • Ensure that Financial and Statistical analysis are done to strengthen negotiations.
  • Perform various calculations and report scenarios which should reduce/highlight risk and improve the bottom line.
  • Assist to compile Marketings annual budget and ensure it is aligned with the strategy.
  • Track sales against budgets and track whether budget is aligned with strategy.
  • Compile a detailed sales forecast from customers on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Track customer sales against forecasts monthly.
  • Maintains current information on Customer Master Data in SAP and Maintain accurate and complete customer files for historical documentation.
  • Ensure the effective handling of orders.
  • Assists with pricing Maintains and ensures accurate pricing on SAP for all customers.
  • Accessing and ensuring the accuracy on the Bill of material (BOM).
  • Adequate support provided for team members and back up in times of need.
  • General office duties (filing and messages).
  • Handling queries on invoices and preparing credit/debit notes.
  • Supports month-end closing process.
  • Oversee good governance and compliance with regards to contract management, Competition Law and internal controls.
  • Ensure all contracts tracked, completed and accounted for.
  • Competition compliance process and training register in place and up to date.
  • Participant in verifying, presenting and publishing financial aspects of sales TQF to Income statement project.
  • Compile, verify and publish Marketing’s weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for OpsCom.
  • Verify and present Marketing’s KPIs and Revenue information.
  • Discuss, develop and issue formal written reports, requests and recommendations to various decision making structures.
  • Lead the SAMIS to SAP project and customer database implementation. Performs presents. Industry, Market and Customer scanning, SWOT analysis, reports and formal recommendations. Information used to monitor the macro and micro environments to inform the marketing strategy.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the market information System and perform statistical, financial, marketing and supply chain analysis.
