Duties
- Perform Second or third line support for all RAN Wireless NEs (Network Elements)
- Carry out daily/weekly/monthly network maintenance operations and upgrading tasks needed in limiting the impact on the production network
- Provide Remote support to all FMs (Field Maintenance) teams if required
- Routine network analysis, including Best/worst/sleeping cell analysis, resolution, and tracking; VSWR tracking
- Good understanding of Single-mode and multi-mode site solutions
- General understanding of traffic control algorithms and redundancy mechanisms of the RNC/BSC
- Good command of 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM heavy traffic preventive measures and emergency measures
- Good command of basic ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) test items and methods and capability to conduct basic ATP tests
- Good command of principles and implementation of comprehensive energy-saving solutions for wireless sites
- General understanding of common antenna specifications and components (including those for indoor coverage)
- General understanding of power units, conversion relationships, and test methods
- Responsible to maintain all network & individual Wireless NEs KPI to agreed values
- Escalate the CSR (Customer Service Request) ticket to the support team if the issue is not solved within the agreed time, and follow-up until solved
- Configuration Management and implementation of the plan provided by planning
- Implement planned activities, like BSC/RNC/NodeB/EnodeB/gnodeB Migrations, Site Re-homing, and Integration of new nodes into the network
- Check the Network Utilization on a daily basis and then suggest and implement the Radio/TC expansion
- Implementation of New Software/CDs whenever available / Required
- Ensure Trouble ticket management, Fault diagnosis, Remote fault resolution, Management, and control
- Monitor the system’s critical/Major alarms on a daily basis and perform activities to minimize their occurrence
- Attend weekly wireless RAN meetings with the customer and be responsible for providing valid answers to all customer concerns
Requisites
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a strictly related Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field
- Technical certifications in wireless network systems (e.g., 4G/5G Radio Access Network configurations from tier-1 telecom vendors) are highly preferred
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven hands-on experience in wireless network operations, optimization, or RAN engineering
- Experience acting as an escalation point (Tier 2 or Tier 3 support) within an active telecom operator or vendor network infrastructure environment is essential
- Skills and Competencies
- Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting Radio wireless related issues
- Fully understand the O&M environment & Requirements
- Complete knowledge of all wireless RAN related KPIs and troubleshooting
- Complete Understanding and hands-on experience with all wireless related Tools
- Complete understanding of Call flow and able to understand and analyze Traces/logs
- Performance management and stats collection from NetAct (KPI Browser, Reporting Suite)
- Customer Expectation Management
- Configuration Management and implementation of the provided plan
