Our client in Cabo Delgado is looking for a Senior Survayor to join their team within the Mining Sector.
Responsibilities
- Direct the crew through GPS and transfer the drilling design to the ground for blasting.
- Develop an understanding and working knowledge of Surpac Software.
- Competent use of GPS (Leica, Topcon or Trimble) Survey equipment.
- Open pit surveys as required (Crest &Toe lines, grades, pickups, and end of month measurements). Setting out of blast hole and RC drill holes.
- Carry out all necessary computations with survey work and report in a timely manner.
- Pegging and picking up of berms, ramps and toes to ensure the mining is to design.
- Pegging and picking up of waste dumps and stockpiles to ensure they are built to design.
- Survey of all ROM Pad and ore stockpiles at month end.
- Pegging of haul roads.
- Mark out and pick up of exploration drilling.
- Surveying and updating topographical plans of haul roads, dumps, buildings and other surface features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Survey from a recognized tertiary institution.
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience, including 5 years in open pit mine surveying.
- Proficient in the use of mine design and survey software including E.G. Spectrum Survey Office, Carlson Surveyor + GPS, Trimble Optron or topcon, Surpac and Civil 3D Autocad.
- Strong communication skills with ability to speak and write English.
- Must possess strong cultural sensitivity and be able to execute work successfully in a different culture.
