Our client in Inhambane is looking for a Mining and Geological Engineer to join their team within the Mining Sector.
Responsibilities
- Conduct geological surveys to identify and map mineral deposits.
- Analyze geological data to assess ore quality and quantity.
- Collaborate with mining engineers to optimize extraction processes.
- Provide on-site geological support during drilling and blasting operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed geological reports and documentation.
- Use specialized software for geological modeling and analysis.
- Stay up to date with advancements in geological science and mining technology.
- Conduct risk assessments to anticipate and mitigate geological hazards.
- Supervise and mentor junior geologists and technicians.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Proficiency in geological mapping and sampling techniques.
- Professional certification such as P.Geo or equivalent.
- Extensive experience with geological modeling software.
- Experience in open-pit and underground mining environments.
- Proficiency in GIS and remote sensing technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.
- Strong background in structural geology.
- Physical fitness to work in challenging field conditions.
- Knowledge of mining operations and industry standards.
- Experience with geological software and data analysis tools.
