Heading is looking for his client , a DWDM Engineer (M/F) for Maputo
Activities:
- Transmission expert with good understanding of multiple DWDM platform.
- Will be responsible for management, maintaining, and troubleshooting the high-capacity optical fiber backbone.
- Be able to serve as the critical 2nd or 3rd-line tier of support, ensuring seamless, high-speed data transmission across the network.
- General understanding of the process and principles of automatic IPRAN and PTN.
- Be skillful in using network management systems (NMS) and other tools to analyze optical alarms—such as signal degradation, excessive Bit Error Rate (BER), fiber cuts, or amplifier failures.
- Daily network check.
- Service provisioning on new services.
- Manage DWDM low level configurations operational support.
- Change management and support operations, such as migration, and expansion.
- Routine maintenance task, such as license check and distribution.
- Designing, configuring, and testing new optical wavelengths or circuits as requested by enterprise and wholesale clients.
- Good command of the LLD of NCE Manager+Controller+Analyzer in the on premises.
- Project support (Add On Sales.)
- Handling accidents: Participate in NCE accident handling, cooperate in quick accident recovery, and participate in fault locating.
- Good understanding & Configuration and Troubleshooting skills on transmission protection mechanisms, like SNCP, MSP, ASON.etc.
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders and ability to take informed decisions.
- Provide L1/L2 support to FO and field resource.
- Isolate and Identifies POF for hub sites and advise Field resource on what to check on site.
- General understanding of the principles and processes of managing NEs, monitoring alarms, managing performances.
- Routine network analysis including redundancy checks.
- Manage DWDM configurations and L2 Operations support.
- General resolution of Packet loss and IUB frame loss.
- Investigation and resolution of O&M fault and SCTP fault.
- General understanding of the classification of transport equipment. Sound familiar with NE Explorer for SDH, WDM, and OTN equipment.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience.
- Keeping track of all hardware versions and software versions in domain follow up with all team members to complete all tasks in time.
- Should have in-depth knowledge of equipment, hardware, software features and limitations of the nodes in domain.
- Ability to prepare solutions based on health check before major network incidents happen.
- Work with cross domain teams to identify bottle necks in network and prepare solutions.
