The Opportunity

This is more than a business development role.

It is an opportunity to build one of Mozambique’s most influential commercial platforms for workforce development.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead Field Ready’s commercial growth strategy, secure strategic partnerships with industry leaders, expand our presence across the LNG, mining and infrastructure

sectors, and help shape the future of Local Content in Mozambique.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As the Head of Business Development you will lead the commercial growth of Field Ready by:

  • Developing and executing the national business development strategy.
  • Building strategic relationships with EPC contractors, energy companies, mining operators,
  • government and development partners.
  • Winning new commercial contracts and institutional partnerships.
  • Growing and managing a high-value sales pipeline.
  • Identifying and securing grant-funded opportunities.
  • Leading proposal development and commercial negotiations.
  • Managing and mentoring the Business Development team.
  • Providing market intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
  • Representing Field Ready at industry events and executive forums.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months, you will have:

  • Expanded Field Ready’s commercial pipeline.
  • Secured strategic employer partnerships.
  • Increased revenue through new contracts and programmes.
  • Strengthened relationships across government and industry.
  • Built a high-performing Business Development function.
  • Positioned Field Ready as a trusted Local Content partner.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines commercial excellence with strategic thinking.

You should have:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in business development, commercial management or strategic
  • Experience leading high-performing commercial teams.
  • A strong track record of winning major contracts or strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep understanding of Mozambique’s energy, mining or infrastructure sectors.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English.
  • A degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, International Development or a related discipline.
