- Participate in P&ID reviews, HAZOP, Process Safety assessments and safety review meetings, where applicable.
- Contribute to design improvements related to operability, maintainability and reliability of control and safety systems.
2. Construction Support
- Support the installation of DCS/ICSS equipment, including cabinets, marshalling panels, safety logic solvers, field termination boxes, controllers, servers, networks, workstations, F&G panels, PLC cabinets and junction boxes.
- Review ITPs, method statements and inspection reports, ensuring conformity with engineering deliverables.
- Participate in walkdowns, inspections and tests, including continuity, insulation, loop checks and Ex inspections.
- Ensure proper preservation, storage and handling of sensitive control equipment throughout construction.
- Provide timely responses to site queries (TQs), deviations, NCRs and technical troubleshooting to avoid contractor standby.
3. Pre-commissioning / Commissioning Assistance
- Support the preparation, review and implementation of pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for ICSS/DCS/PLC systems.
- Participate in SATs for DCS/ESD/F&G and package PLC systems.
- Witness key tests, including:
- I/O loop checks;
- Logic testing for ESD, F&G, permissives and interlocks;
- Sequence tests;
- System performance tests;
- Network redundancy checks;
- Package PLC–ICSS integration tests.
- Contribute to the pre-commissioning tracking system and punch-list management.
- Support preparation of technical dossiers on an “as-commissioned” basis.
- Support start-up sequence readiness with commissioning and operations teams.
4. Package PLC & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with package vendors for compressors, generators, HVAC, pumps, analyzers and other equipment regarding PLC integration into the ICSS.
- Validate communication interfaces such as Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, hardwired I/O and serial links.
- Support vendor troubleshooting and on-site interventions.
- Ensure cybersecurity requirements are implemented, including access control, antivirus, USB control and configuration management.
5. Interface Management
- Coordinate interfaces between:
- Process;
- Mechanical;
- Electrical;
- Instrumentation;
- Telecom;
- Subsea;
- Marine;
- Commissioning;
- Operations.
- Ensure all subsea/onshore DCS/ICSS interface requirements are correctly implemented.
- Support the integration of EMCS, EMS, SCS (Subsea Control System), analyzers, metering systems, HVAC control, telecoms and safety systems.
6. HSE and Quality Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project HSE standards and promote a strong safety culture at site level.
- Apply LOTO, PTW, electrical isolation and safe control-system intervention practices.
- Report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Support technical HSE audits and reviews.
- Ensure construction and commissioning activities comply with project quality requirements.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Report discipline progress, risks, technical issues and priorities to the E&I Lead.
- Ensure documentation remains updated, including:
- As-built drawings;
- Loop folders;
- Logic diagrams;
