Job Description

Systems Administration

  • Install, configure, maintain and support enterprise servers and systems.
  • Perform routine system administration and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor system performance, availability and capacity.
  • Perform operating system and application patching as required.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and access in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Support backup and recovery operations.
  • Perform routine health checks and preventative maintenance.

Technical Support

  • Respond to incidents, service requests and technical issues assigned through the service management process.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, application and infrastructure issues.
  • Resolve technical issues within defined SLA targets.
  • Escalate complex or high-impact issues to the Senior Systems Engineer.
  • Participate in incident and problem management activities.
  • Provide appropriate updates to clients and internal support teams.

Infrastructure Operations

  • Support virtualization, storage, networking and monitoring platforms.
  • Perform approved system configurations and changes.
  • Verify system health following maintenance or change activities.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
  • Assist with system upgrades, migrations and implementations.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate system and operational documentation.
  • Record technical activities, incidents and changes in appropriate systems.
  • Update configuration information and system inventories.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures as assigned.

Client Support

  • Provide professional and responsive technical support to client organizations.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly and appropriately.
  • Follow client-specific support procedures and service requirements.
  • Escalate potential SLA breaches and critical incidents promptly.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging infrastructure technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities within the engineering team.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration or technical support.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise users, systems or infrastructure.
  • Experience with incident and service request management.
  • Exposure to virtualization, backup, networking and monitoring technologies.
  • Experience working in a client-facing or managed services environment is desirable.
