Our client in Pemba is looking for Articulated truck driver to join their team for a job vacancy within the Oil & Gas Sector.
Responsibilities
- Operate an articulated truck to transport goods from one location to another.
- Inspect the truck before and after each trip to ensure it is safe to operate and report any defects or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including driving within the speed limit and maintaining a safe following distance from other vehicles.
- Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly to prevent damage and ensure safety during transport.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules.
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate schedules and routes and report any delays or issues that may affect delivery times.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience driving articulated trucks.
- Ability to maintain and service the truck as necessary.
- Excellent driving record with no accidents or violations.
- Ability to operate and maneuver the truck in tight spaces and difficult terrain.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and other drivers.
- Flexibility to work long hours and travel long distances as needed.
- Valid driver’s license for articulated trucks.
