A vacancy for the position of an ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION. The company that provides general insurance and health insurance in the Mozambique market, is committed to technical excellence, financial integrity, and sustainable growth in the markets it serves.
The incumbent will report to the General Manager. The appointed candidate will have the primary responsibility of providing managerial leadership in finance, investments, administration, and company secretarial services. The role ensures that the company’s financial, operational, and governance objectives are achieved in line with international standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsabilidades
- Overseeing the preparation and review of monthly financial reports, quarterly regulatory returns, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and applicable laws
- Managing the external and internal audit processes, coordinating the provision of financial information, and ensuring clearance of audit issues
- Leading the formulation, review, and implementation of financial policies, systems, and internal controls, including the coordination of the annual budget process and cost management
- Managing investments, including approval of counterparties, placement of investments, and alignment of investments with technical reserves
- Supervising administration functions such as procurement, asset management, insurance of company assets, travel arrangements, and fleet management
- Overseeing IT function to ensure systems, hardware, software, and internet connectivity are functioning properly, and assisting in IT policy formulation
- Performing company secretarial duties including preparation of board packs, minutes of board and committee meetings, and ensuring timely submission of statutory returns.
Qualificações
- Solid experience in financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls under GAAP / IFRS
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior managerial level within the insurance industry
Habilidades e Experiência
- Demonstrated ability to manage investments, budgets, audits, and company secretarial functions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare financial reports, projections, and strategic plans
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple functional areas (finance, administration, IT, secretarial)
