Our client in Pemba is looking for a Backhoe loader Operator to join their team for a job vacancy within the Oil & Gas Sector.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain backhoe to excavate dirt, rock, sand, and other minerals.
- Responsible for the efficient working condition of the backhoe. This includes Performing routine maintenance including minor servicing, maintenance, and cleaning of the backhoe.
- Responsible for alerting the serviceman of any significant problems.
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
- Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability.
- Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
- Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
- Keep records of material or equipment usage or problems encountered.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of Backhoe Operator experience.
- Must demonstrate the ability to operate the Backhoe, must demonstrate excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policy and safety standards.
- Must have the ability to operate and maintain Backhoe Machines with little or no supervision.
- Must wear proper attire at all times including: safety vests, safety glasses when appropriate, long pants, hard sole/close-toed shoes, and reflect a clean and presentable image.
- Project a positive and cooperative attitude by maintaining courteous and professional conduct with Supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the general public.
- Valid CDL license is preferred.
