Bus Driver

The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers along established routes according to fixed timetables. This role prioritizes passenger safety, vehicle operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and high customer service standards.

• – Operate passenger transit buses, motor coaches, or shuttles safely in compliance with federal, state, and local traffic laws;
• – Pick up and discharge passengers at designated stops following established schedules and routes;
• – Collect transit fares, validate passes, and assist passengers with route navigation or service questions;
• – Operate wheelchair lifts, ramps, and securement systems to accommodate passengers with disabilities or mobility devices;
• – Conduct mandatory pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip safety inspections of brakes, lights, mirrors, tires, and emergency exits;
• – Maintain order and enforce passenger safety guidelines on board, managing disruptive behavior or emergencies calmly and professionally;
• – Maintain constant communication with central dispatch regarding route delays, accidents, mechanical issues, or road hazards;
• – Complete daily trip logs, incident reports, passenger counts, and inspection records;

• – Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with Passenger (P) endorsement and Air Brake endorsement;
• – Minimum 2 years of professional commercial driving or passenger transport experience;
• – Clean driving record with no major moving violations or DUI/DWI convictions within the last 5 years;
• – Valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card;
• – Ability to pass background checks, pre-employment drug screening, and random DOT drug and alcohol tests;
• – Strong customer service, communication, and conflict-resolution skills;
