We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Manager to oversee and manage all catering operations at our facility in Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, customer service, and cost control, while managing a diverse team of catering staff.
Roles and Responsibilities
Catering Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute catering services for events, meetings, and daily operations.
- Liaise with clients to understand requirements and customize menus accordingly.
- Manage catering logistics including transportation, setup, and service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement.
Kitchen Leadership (Chef Duties)
- Lead kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation.
- Design and update menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and consistency.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and safety standards.
- Oversee kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and waste management.
Food Quality & Presentation:
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
- Monitor food temperatures and portion sizes to ensure consistency and safety.
- Work with chefs to develop innovative and appealing menus.
Client Relations & Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations.
- Obtain feedback from clients to improve service and menu offerings.
Budget Management & Cost Control:
- Manage event budgets, controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
- Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best prices on supplies and rentals.
- Track expenses and prepare financial reports.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain food safety programs.
- Conduct regular inspections of catering facilities.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and regulatory standards.
- Always adhere to RA’s Code of Conduct.
Workplace:
- The job typically involves working in a fixed location, however the role may require travel, both domestically and internationally, depending on the work requirements.
