The Chartered Accounting Officer is a pivotal role within our dynamic digital banking environment, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and accurate reporting. This position goes beyond traditional accounting to encompass the unique complexities of digital financial products, payment systems, and fintech-oriented operations. The ideal candidate will be a rigorous professional who leverages their deep knowledge of IFRS and banking regulations to safeguard assets, optimize financial processes, and provide clear insights that support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, innovative setting.
Responsabilidades
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and specific directives from the Bank of Mozambique
- Lead the direct preparation and submission of all mandatory regulatory reports (e.g., prudential reports, statistical returns) to the Bank of Mozambique and other relevant authorities
- Oversee the complete month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness for the digital bank’s portfolio
- Continuously identify opportunities for process automation and improvement within the finance function to support scalability
- Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audits, providing all necessary documentation and explanations
- Proactively advise management on the accounting implications of new digital products, services, and regulatory changes affecting the financial sector.
Qualificações
- 3–5 years of experience mandatory in the banking sector, banking audit or regulated financial institutions
- Significant experience in complex reconciliations, monthly and annual closing, internal control and reporting to the Bank of Mozambique
- Experience with accounting software and ERPs
Habilidades e Experiência
- Certifications such as ACCA, CIS or equivalent are highly valued
