Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the bank’s long-term strategic goals.
- Financial Oversight: Ensure profitability, risk management, and sustainable growth.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to banking laws and regulations.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain relationships with regulators, investors, board members, and customers.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee banking operations, technology adoption, and service delivery.
- Innovation & Growth: Drive digital transformation, product innovation, and market expansion.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks.
Requirements
- Bilingual (English and Portuguese) with an ability to read, write and speak both languages fluently.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Deep understanding of Mozambican banking regulations and financial management
- Experience in corporate strategy and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Minimum of 15+ years in banking, with 10 years senior leadership experience in a retail banking focused role.
- MBA or relevant finance/banking qualifications preferred.
