Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the bank’s long-term strategic goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensure profitability, risk management, and sustainable growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to banking laws and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain relationships with regulators, investors, board members, and customers.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee banking operations, technology adoption, and service delivery.
  • Innovation & Growth: Drive digital transformation, product innovation, and market expansion.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English and Portuguese) with an ability to read, write and speak both languages fluently.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Deep understanding of Mozambican banking regulations and financial management
  • Experience in corporate strategy and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Minimum of 15+ years in banking, with 10 years senior leadership experience in a retail banking focused role.
  • MBA or relevant finance/banking qualifications preferred.
