Civil Society Engagement Lead

Duties
- Design, execute, and regularly update the organization’s CSO &
- Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with CSOs, NGOs, CBOs, and other relevant stakeholders at local, national, and international levels
- Serve as the primary point of contact for civil society engagement, facilitating open, inclusive, and respectful dialogue
- Organize and facilitate bilateral meetings, roundtables, field visits, and thematic workshops with CSOs/NGOs
- Coordinate the development and distribution of engagement materials (e.g., bulletins, reports, Q&A documents)
- Represent the organization in external meetings, forums, and policy dialogues
- Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive register and mapping database of relevant CSOs/NGOs, including their focus areas, activities, and positions on key issues
- Monitor CSO/NGO activities, positions, and concerns through direct engagement, media, and social media monitoring
- Prepare at least quarterly, insightful reports on engagement activities, trends, risks, and opportunities
- Identify and mitigate societal and reputational risks through proactive engagement and collaboration with internal teams
- Ensure all engagement activities comply with national regulations, international standards (e.g., IFC, Equator Principles), and company policies
- Support the Social Performance and Stakeholder Engagement teams in achieving broader organizational objectives
- Ensure all engagement activities are well-documented, traceable, and accessible for internal and external use
- Share learnings, best practices, and challenges to foster continuous improvement
Requisites
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social sciences, Public Policy, International Relations, Community Development, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, social performance, or community development, preferably in the extractives, infrastructure, or energy sectors
- Demonstrated experience working with CSOs, NGOs, and CBOs in complex, multicultural environments
- Familiarity with international standards and frameworks (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank, ESG)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive issues and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Portuguese; knowledge of local language is an advantage
