Job Description

Coca – Cola Beverages Africa has an exciting vacancy of Comunication Specialist at one of our Mozambique Bottlers – Matola Gare Plant, leading producer of various flavors in Mozambique for the last 31 years. This is senior management position based at South, that reports directly to the Director. The incumbent will be responsible to deliver, Digital channels management, Partnership and collaboration, Communication content creation, Business acumen, Media Relations, Campaigning, Reputation Management, Digital channels management and Sustainability understanding.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execution of External Communication Plan : Execute defined external communication plans that enhance CCBA’s reputation in the market, aligned to CCBA’s communication strategy and framework.
  • Established Media Network : Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with priority media outlets and journalists to support favorable coverage.
  • Sustainability Leadership Partner : Position and sustain the company’s image as a leader in sustainability, securing high-impact media coverage and recognition through consistent messaging, and maintain a “drumbeat” of visibility by leveraging key narratives and media relationships.
  • High-Impact Media Coverage : Achieve significant media exposure in key influential outlets that support the company’s business goals by utilizing media connections to ensure consistent and favorable media coverage.
  • Direct Customer Communication : Develop and implement targeted communication aimed at customers, especially HoReCa customers, to enhance direct engagement and strengthen brand positioning according to defined templates and/or guidelines.
  • Effective Digital Communication Channels : Leverage the company’s digital platforms to maximize reach and engagement with target audiences, by executing content and messaging.
  • Understanding of Growth and Sustainability Strategy : Communicate CCBA’s growth and sustainability strategies, build credibility and foster stakeholder buy-in through candid messaging and established communication channels.
  • Maximized Return on Sustainability Investments : Leverage sustainability initiatives to enhance brand reputation and ensure measurable returns through routine reporting and media exposure.
  • Communication Partner for Market : Serve as a Communication partner for the market by facilitating aligned messaging and execution of communication initiatives.
  • Integrated Communication Plan : Collaborate with business partners to implement an integrated communication and engagement plan for the market, that drives employee engagement and ambassadorship, ensuring timely execution across all platforms while adhering to timelines and procedures.
  • Salesforce Communication : Ensure the salesforce is well-informed through targeted communication that supports their roles, emphasizing clarity and consistency in message delivery.
  • Employee-Centric Communication : Improve employee understanding of performance challenges and their contributions to business success by communicating established objectives and expectations clearly and concisely.

Continuous Improvement of Communication Efforts : Regularly measure and improve communication initiatives using data and feedback to ensure their effectiveness, relying on established metrics and reporting mechanisms

Skills, Experience & Education

Education

  • Degree in Journalism, Media, Communication, or Marketing.

Experience

  • 3-4 years in corporate communication, ideally within a corporate environment. Previous experience in a PR agency is advantageous.
  • Experience managing internal and external communication platforms, including digital and print media.

Skills

  • Experience in internal and external communication and media relations.
  • Ability to simplify complex messages for different audiences.
  • Understanding of digital communication tools and platforms.
  • Ability to approach communication crises and challenges with creative solutions.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and align communication across different functions and levels.
  • Possesses a strong instinct for newsworthy content and the ability to spot stories that will gain traction with media and audiences.
  • Demonstrates understanding of business operations and financial principles.
  • Knowledge of audience segmentation, tailoring messages and selecting the right channels to create an optimal communication mix.
