Selecta Talent is recruiting, on behalf of its client, two (2) Contracts and Communication Officers to be based in Pemba.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the company’s contract lead, ensuring all agreements with clients are fully understood and adhered to;
  • Monitor operations and ensure that project planning aligns with existing contractual agreements;
  • Track contract performance and provide regular status and risk reports to management;
  • Assess potential risks and recommend mitigation measures;
  • Liaise and negotiate with clients, vendors, and contractors regarding contract terms;
  • Draft and edit contracts between the company and potential clients;
  • Lead contract negotiations for new business opportunities;
  • Research legislation and regulations to ensure all contracts are compliant and up to date;
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align contracts with company goals and policies;
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Communication:

  • Receive, review, and summarize all incoming correspondence from consortiums and clients for senior management;
  • Maintain a communication register tracking all incoming and outgoing correspondence;
  • Formalize and document all outgoing communications to consortium partners, ensuring consistent communication channels;
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Oversee the creation of communication materials such as newsletters, press releases, reports, and promotional content;
  • Manage the company’s social media presence, including content development and audience engagement;
  • Lead crisis communication efforts and ensure the organization’s crisis communication plan is implemented effectively;
  • Work with department heads to ensure message consistency across all communications;
  • Support and guide staff in communication activities;
  • Analyze communication outcomes and recommend improvements.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of contract language and terms;
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Ability to draft, review, and edit contracts clearly and accurately;
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and different organizational levels.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Contract Management, Administration, Business Law, or a related field;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in a similar position;
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken;
  • Experience in the extractives or energy sector will be considered an advantage.
