The Corporate Affairs Executive is responsible for shaping, protecting, and promoting the company’s reputation and license to operate in Mozambique. The incumbent will lead all aspects of corporate affairs, stakeholder and government relations, corporate social investment (CSI), and industry affairs, ensuring alignment with the Group Corporate Affairs strategy while addressing country-specific priorities. The role requires developing and maintaining trusted relationships with government ministries, regulators, community leaders, media, and industry bodies to advance the company’s strategic objectives and contribute to Mozambique’s social and economic development.
Responsabilidades
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Corporate Affairs strategy for Mozambique aligned to Group priorities
- Act as trusted advisor to the Managing Director and Group Corporate Affairs Executive on political, regulatory, and reputational developments affecting the business
- Lead proactive and reactive communications to protect the company’s brand and reputation
- Ensure effective alignment between local communications and Group messaging to promote a unified corporate identity
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with senior government officials, ministries, and regulators to promote policy environments that support the sugar and related industries
- Represent the company in key national and regional industry forums, chambers, and working groups
- Lead advocacy on regulatory, fiscal, and trade issues impacting the business
- Ensure systematic stakeholder engagement through an updated Stakeholder Engagement Framework and Plan
- Facilitate and chair business forums and networks that strengthen the company’s presence within Mozambique’s industrial landscape
- Lead the design and implementation of the company’s CSI strategy to align with Group sustainability goals and local socio-economic priorities
- Oversee selection, funding, and governance of community projects in areas such as education, health, environment, and local enterprise development
- Build partnerships with NGOs, development agencies, and local authorities to deliver high-impact, measurable CSI outcomes
- Monitor and report on CSI impact and alignment with corporate citizenship principles
- Represent the company’s interests in industry and trade associations, advocating for sustainable sector growth
- Lead the development of partnership strategies to engage with donor agencies, investors, and funding bodies for joint initiatives (e.g., agricultural development, ethanol expansion, community upliftment)
- Monitor market and policy trends to identify opportunities for collaboration or advocacy
- Position the company as a thought leader in Mozambique’s sugar and agribusiness sectors
- Communications and Brand Leadership
- Oversee all external communications, public relations, and media management to ensure positive and accurate brand representation
- Serve as official company spokesperson when required, maintaining consistent and credible messaging
- Lead internal communications that foster engagement, alignment, and awareness of corporate priorities
- Develop and implement brand-building initiatives, events, and ambassador programmes to strengthen corporate identity
- Governance, Risk, and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with national laws, corporate governance standards, and Group communication protocols
- Maintain transparent and ethical engagement practices with government and third-party stakeholders
- Manage departmental budgets, including CSI and communications spend, ensuring cost-effective and impactful outcomes
- Prepare periodic reports and updates for the MD and Group Corporate Affairs Executive covering stakeholder engagement, policy risks, CSI impact, and industry developments

Qualificações
- Honours degree in Communications, Political Science, Business, Law, or related discipline
- 10–15 years’ experience in corporate affairs, government relations, or communications in a large or complex organization
- Advanced stakeholder engagement and government relations expertise
- Strong understanding of Mozambique’s socio-economic, political, and regulatory landscape
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders with divergent interests
- High degree of diplomacy, negotiation, and judgement
- Excellent communication, media, and presentation skills
- Strong business and commercial acumen
