The key purpose of the role is accountable for country-level ownership and active management of inventory and supply chain losses, including finished goods, empties, and materials stored externally under the logistics cost center. This position drives cross-functional action plans to mitigate Supply Chain Overheads (SCOH) and impairment risks, ensuring accurate reporting and root-cause analysis for directors and Zone leadership. Key responsibilities include budgeting and monitoring supply chain overheads, managing slow and obsolete stock, and implementing best practices to minimize demand variability impacts. The role oversees inventory count processes, NPD and SKU phase-in/out management, and ensures compliance with CSA and internal policies. It also involves data accuracy maintenance across ERP systems, delivering inputs for medium- to long-term inventory planning, and managing transport breakages and recharge processes.

The position requires strong collaboration with Zone and global teams to adopt best practices, coaching teams on inventory procedures, and driving value-add initiatives. Additionally, the role ensures adherence to SOPs, manages inventory blocks and GOPS in LCP, and supports policy cascading across the country.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Country Ownership and active management of the supply chain losses, impairment and inventory (FG, Empties & Materials in the external storages accounted for in the Logistics cost centre)
  • Cross-functional action plans, mitigations in the SCOH & Impairment Package
  • High level Reporting and presentations to directors and Zone of Inventory losses and Supply Chain over heads including Root-Cause Analysis
  • Strong relationship with Zone and global teams to ensure  best practices are adopted in the Country
  • Supply chain overheads budgeting formulation with monthly tracking and monitoring;
  • Monthly LE Accuracy tracking and management;
  • Slow and Obsolete stock management, current & LE tracking and reporting, gap closure and write off mitigation plans in place(R&O’s);
  • Coach and implement best practices to mitigate demand changes and impact on inventory holding;
  • Coach and implement best practice to ensure adherence to inventory count procedures and co-ordinate monthly stock count activities;
  • Identification and implementation of Value-Add (VA) initiatives/opportunities on SCOH;
  • Inventory Count process planning an execution across all areas in the business;
  • NPD, Innovation SKU and de-listed SKU process management (phase-in/out of raw materials and finished goods);
  • Owner of Daily controls ensuring standardized best practice is applied across ERP systems;
  • Maintain and ensure a high-standard of data accuracy within the Inventory reporting system(s);
  • Deliver accurate inputs for Medium to Long-Term Inventory planning (Input into S&OP & S&OE);
  • Owner of CSA adherence for Inventory Mozambique;
  • Manage improvement of Transport Breakages and recharge process;
  • Owner of Inventory Blocks, toolkits and GOPS in LCP;
  • Mozambique owner for Mass Balance inputs;
  • Country support on Policy’s and SOP’s understanding and cascading.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors or post-graduate degree qualification in a relevant field: B.Sc. Degree in Engineering or Econometrics, Finance or Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain, Economics, IT, Accounting Science, MBA recommended.
  • 5 Years experience in logistics and supply chain management and finance background.
