Our client in Maputo is looking for a Crawler Crane Operator to join their team within the Mining Sector.
Responsibilities
- Operate crawler cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials as directed by site plans or supervisors.
- Conduct thorough pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections, documenting any issues and assisting in routine maintenance.
- Interpret load charts, boom angles, and other specifications to determine safe lifting capabilities.
- Coordinate closely with riggers, signalers, and other team members to ensure clear communication and smooth operations.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety standards, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring entry-level operators on safe and efficient crane operation.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, performing basic troubleshooting and coordinating with maintenance as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NCCCO certification (or equivalent) for crawler cranes.
- 3-5 years of experience operating crawler cranes or similar heavy equipment.
- Solid understanding of load charts, crane mechanics, and safety standards.
- Physical stamina and strength for demanding tasks in outdoor environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination with site personnel.
