The key purpose of this role is to lead the formulation of a trading/credit strategy appropriate to SAB Beer’s Route to Market Strategy and in support of our competitive market position. To ensure that this strategy is operationalised in the Beer regions, Customer Interaction Centre (CIC) and the Shared Service Centre (SSC). To ensure the credit community are upskilled and competent in their roles. To manage the development of the necessary technology and skills upgrade in support of the strategy.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control credit limits to optimize sales, whilst promoting minimum exposure to bad debt. This Includes preparing and executing credit limit proposals to meet peak targets

  • Keep abreast with Legislation changes and business strategy, ensuring that the Credit policy is updated accordingly

  • Regularly review governance framework to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Obtain approval from relevant stakeholders for any proposed changes to the governance framework

  • Responsible to deliver quality reporting to support credit management and CPI’s/KPI’s. In conjunction with the Regional Credit Managers, develop and implement Credit Business plans for the Regions

  • Evaluate new market credit requirements and propose methods of risk management. Provide specialised, quality risk management expertise and support.

  • Prepare and submit the monthly, quarterly and annual reports to SACRRA, the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and to relevant Credit Bureaus.

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of SAP, or similar ERP type software
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills and intermediate PowerPoint

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (B Com/B Compt or equivalent) -CIMA/ CA/ CIA/ MBA preferred

Experience:

  • 5 -7 years relevant senior credit management experience, preferably in an FMCG industry
