Purpose of Job
Support production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant and/or equipment.
Key Accountabilities
Commissioning and start-up specific:
- Involved in Electrical system punch outs
- Breakdown maintenance of electrical during commissioning and start up activities
- Fault finding on pneumatic and electronic loops
- Conduct technical investigations, failure analyses and plant inspections
- Maybe required to perform standby duties during commissioning and start up activities
- Understand and use the plant/mine maintenance documentation system
- Relevant plant/mine specific/basic process knowledge (defined per discipline)
- Comply with Safety Management Systems e.g. IMS, MBO, etc.
- Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessment
Do Hazard identification/task risk assessments - Participate in daily morning meetings to discuss work assignments
- Support the goals and vision of the business by meeting deadlines
- Provide adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress
- Maintain good housekeeping and adheres to waste disposal procedures
- Coordinate team activities
- Coach learners/artisans in small group
- Share knowledge with junior artisans in known environment/context
- Conduct SAP inspections to maintain and improve plant sustainability
Work effectively in a team - Provide adequate feedback to customers on work progress
- Play an appropriate supporting role during emergency situations to get the plant back online
- Give input at “toolbox talks” to improve plant safety
- Give input and interacts in PDAs and RCAs to improve plant safety and stability
- Spot continuous improvement opportunities in own work area
Minimum requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical
- NQF Level 4 Occupational / Vocational in Electrical
- 0 – 5 relevant years
