We are looking for a new team member to join us as the Finance Director at MozParks.

MozParks Holding, the developer and operator of industrial parks and free trade zones in Mozambique, is hiring a Finance Director (M/F) to join its growing team.

THE DUTIES OF THE MOZPARKS FINANCE DIRECTOR ARE:

  • Establish and maintain all financial and accounting mechanisms necessary for the proper functioning of the Group (updating Financial Management manuals, records, internal control, archives, etc.), as well as any other related work typical of a financial manager, such as economic feasibility studies, negotiations with financial institutions, and others.
  • Ensure liaison and coordination with international development finance institutions (DFIs) and local financing institutions.
  • Ensure the preparation of the Group’s annual Plan and budget in collaboration with other sectors of the company and submit it for approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure the preparation of the Financial Report, including financial statements in compliance with the General Accounting Plan (PGC) in force in the country.
  • Lead the preparation of investment memoranda and build robust financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the preparation and signing of accounting processes as an accountant for the group companies, as well as coordination with the relevant authorities within the deadlines established by the Corporate Income Tax (IRPC) Code and other applicable legislation, namely:

◦ Income Tax Return (M22) by May 31st of the year immediately following the one to which the income relates.

◦ Accounting and Tax Information Return (M20) with the respective relevant annexes, by June 30th of the year following the end of the tax year, which coincides with the calendar year.

  • Ensure the preparation of quarterly and annual management control reports for the group to provide periodic information on the company’s economic and financial situation compared to the respective budget and submit to the board of directors by the 20th of the month following the quarter in questionMonitor the technical information systems and recording of the Group’s financial flows; track and ensure proper collection of documents and efficiently maintain their filing and classification.
  • Define and maintain internal control systems and ensure the contracting and monitoring of external audits.
  • Support the necessary “on-the-job” training around financial management and accounting for the Group.
  • Advise the Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors on all aspects relating to financial and tax control, as well as for financial decision-making regarding investments or current operations.
  • Ensure the correct assessment and payment of taxes within the limits established by Law, namely

◦ Contributions to the social security system, by the 10th of each month.

◦ Personal Income Tax (IRPS), by the 20th of each month.

 ◦ Final Corporate Income Tax (IRPC) and Payment on Account by May 31st of each year.

 ◦ Special Payment on Account (IRPC) by June 30th of each year.

◦ Value Added Tax (VAT), by the last business day of each month.

◦ Municipal Personal Tax in March of each year.

 ◦ Municipal Property Tax;

  • Monitor the collection of debts from customers and ensure the payment of debts to third parties, ensuring short- and long-term financial balance.
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures whenever necessary and ensure compliance.
  • Represent the companies in institutions relevant to the financial sector, namely banks, tax authorities, funding partners, etc

REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education degree in Accounting and Auditing, Business Management, Financial Management, or related fields.
  • Registration with OCAM (Order of Accountants and Auditors of Mozambique) is an advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Proficiency in computer skills from a user perspective (MS Office), with emphasis on Advanced Excel.
  • Solid experience in financial modeling and the structuring of dossiers for investment fundraising.
  • Experience in using management software packages – Primavera is an advantage.
  • Experience in team management. An individual with a strong orientation toward problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
