The Selecta Talent is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a (1) Finance Officer to be based in Pemba.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of financial policies and procedures related to transactional accounting, including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing;
- Execute and ensure accurate maintenance of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, guaranteeing precision and compliance with deadlines;
- Perform daily accounting entries and reconcile bank accounts, suppliers, customers, and petty cash funds;
- Ensure correct application of the three-way matching process (invoice, purchase order, and goods receipt) in accounts payable;
- Maintain up-to-date control of supplier and customer accounts, ensuring compliance with contracts and payment terms;
- Support payroll processing, including INSS, IRPS, and other statutory deductions;
- Prepare financial reports and analytical summaries to support management decision-making;
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations (IRPS, IRPC, VAT, INSS, etc.);
- Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures;
- Contribute to the implementation and improvement of financial systems and internal control processes;
- Participate in monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded;
- Assist in financial performance analysis and identification of operational improvement opportunities;
- Ensure strict compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and applicable laws;
- Provide support to the accounting team in other assigned financial and administrative tasks.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting, finance, and taxation principles;
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good command of other Microsoft Office tools;
- Experience with ERP financial systems;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Portuguese and English;
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and organizational skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in the mining, industrial, or similar sectors;
- Registration or certification with OCAMO or equivalent professional body is an asset;
- Proven experience in tax compliance (IRPS, IRPC, VAT, INSS, etc.);
- Experience in payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and cost allocation (WBS elements).
