Ensures efficient management, maintenance and coordination of the North Province vehicle workshops and the North Provincial Stores. All mechanical and electrical assets (including manual bailing presses), by controlled maintenance and repairs through departmental staff and specialized tools, combined with quality management of stock and supplies from North Provincial Stores and to and from the vehicle workshop and North divisions.

Responsabilidades
  • • Manage and coordinate all vehicle service, maintenance, repairs, breakdowns and accident-related activities
  • • Receive, assess and schedule all maintenance, repair and breakdown requests for fleet vehicles and equipment
  • • Allocate work between internal workshops and approved external service providers
  • • Monitor progress of work, ensure quality standards, and implement corrective actions when required
  • • Oversee warranty compliance and liaise with vehicle dealerships and suppliers
  • • Manage spare parts control, including stock planning, requisitions, usage monitoring and disposal
  • • Coordinate procurement of outsourced spares in collaboration with Stores and Procurement departments
  • • Monitor fleet fuel and lubricant consumption and maintain accurate usage records
  • • Ensure correct lubricants and consumables are available in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • • Maintain accurate service, repair, fuel and asset records for all vehicles and equipment
  • • Ensure proper vehicle handover procedures and documentation are completed
  • • Manage provincial workshop and stores operations, ensuring effective stock control and continuity of supply
  • • Enforce health, safety and environmental compliance, including participation in toolbox talks and incident reporting
  • • Supervise workshop staff and outsourced service providers, promoting discipline and ethical conduct
  • • Support budgeting, planning and performance management processes
  • • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and IMS requirements.
Qualificações
  • • Certified Mechanic (minimum National Trade Certificate Level 2)
  • • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior technical or supervisory role
  • • Proven experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance and workshop operations
  • • Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • • Good planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • • Knowledge of spare parts control, fuel, and lubricant management
  • • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and company procedure.
