Fuel Truck Driver (Hazmat Tanker) 

The Fuel Truck Driver is responsible for the safe loading, transport, and discharge of bulk liquid petroleum products, gasolines, or dangerous goods to retail stations, commercial hubs, and industrial customers. The role demands strict compliance with environmental protection standards and hazardous material transport regulations.

• – Transport bulk petroleum products safely using commercial Class A or Class B liquid tanker trucks in full compliance with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations;
• – Load fuel from terminal racks and unload at designated delivery points using specialized pumps, hoses, meters, and valves;
• – Perform grounding, bonding, vapor recovery, and static elimination protocols prior to fuel transfer operations to prevent ignition or spills;
• – Inspect tanker seals, emergency shut-off valves, piping, pressure gauges, and hose connections prior to each haul;
• – Monitor fuel levels and transfer rates to prevent tank overfills, leaks, or cross-contamination of fuel grades;
• – Prepare and maintain accurate shipping manifests, Bills of Lading (BOL), Electronic Logging Device (ELD) hours-of-service logs, and delivery receipts;
• – Respond effectively to emergency spills, leaks, or equipment failures in accordance with hazardous material containment protocols;
• – Report safety hazards, vehicle defects, terminal issues, or customer site hazards immediately to dispatch and safety management;

• – Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B;
• – Mandatory Hazardous Materials (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements (or combined X endorsement);
• – Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card where applicable;
• – Minimum 2–3 years of verifiable commercial tanker driving or fuel hauling experience;
• – Clean commercial driving record with zero severe hazardous materials or safety infractions;
• – Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate;
• – Mastery of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazmat rules (49 CFR) and spill containment procedures;
