Our client in Pemba is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join their team for a job vacancy within the Oil & Gas Sector.
Responsibilities
- Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Interact with construction general laborers and/or crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of the equipment to complete conformation of grade specifications for the construction project.
- Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Advise the Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
- Ensure access to houses and locations.
- Perform pre-winter, winter, spring and summer maintenance on roads.
- Use equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage.
Requirements
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience using construction tools and equipment including air hammer, concrete saw, patent scaffolding, trench digging equipment, etc.
- High school diploma, GED or vocational training.
- GFS Heavy Equipment Operator Certification.
- Knowledge of operation of front-end loaders, dozers, graders, excavators and other pieces of heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
- Knowledge of signals is used by signal operators of construction machinery.
- Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
- Previous experience in construction work or an equivalent preferred
