Our client in Pemba is looking for Heavy/Long Haul Driver to join their team for a job vacancy within the Oil & Gas Sector.
Responsibilities
- Drive truck to and from specified destinations delivering bulk oil products.
- Load and unload products in and out of truck by connecting hoses from truck tank to storage tank.
- Deliver packaged goods as needed.
- Deliver product to customer by following instructions on invoice.
- Flush and clean tankers after deliveries are complete or before new product is loaded.
- Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
Perform roadside assistance as needed, such as changing tires and installing light bulbs. - Use safety equipment, such as fire extinguisher and spill kits, as needed.
- Maintain relationship with customers by using good customer service skills.
- Occasionally, we may be required to drive other trucks and deliver other products.
- Perform warehouse duties as needed.
- Keep truck cabs clean and neat.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge of truck parts and truck maintenance - Knowledge of methods and procedures for securing cargo in or on a commercial motor vehicle.
- Ability to read, write and use basic math skills.
- Ability to pass loading requirements at each terminal.
- Exposure to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, outside environmental conditions, extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to read and speak both Portuguese and English languages.
- Understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, and respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
- Ability to successfully complete forklift certification test.
- Must have a valid Dangerous Goods (DG) driving license.
