Helper Flagman 

CBE Southern Africa is looking for A qualified Helper Flagman to join our dynamic Engineering and Construction team, playing a crucial role in ensuring safety and efficiency on our project sites. This position supports critical operations by managing traffic flow, alerting workers to potential hazards, and maintaining a secure work environment. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects while upholding the highest safety standards and contributing to the company’s commitment to operational excellence and community development in the Afungi region. • – Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction sites using hand signals and flag signs;
• – Operate flag signals and other traffic control devices according to established safety protocols;
• – Alert equipment operators and other workers to the presence of traffic, heavy machinery, or pedestrians in the work zone;
• – Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control devices, including cones, barricades, and signs, as per site requirements;
• – Communicate effectively with construction personnel, site visitors, and the public to ensure smooth and safe operations;
• – Monitor work zones for potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or changes in traffic patterns, reporting them promptly to supervisors;
• – Assist with general site clean-up, material handling, and other tasks as directed by the site supervisor;
• – Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as local regulations;
• – Maintain clear and organized traffic control areas to prevent accidents and ensure accessibility.

• – High school diploma or equivalent;
• – Demonstrated understanding of traffic control procedures and safety protocols for
• construction sites;
• – Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and non-verbally, with team
• members and the public;
• – Physical fitness and stamina to perform duties in various outdoor weather conditions,
• including standing for extended periods;
• – Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying
• potential hazards;
• – Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or nights, as project demands
• require;
• – Certification in traffic control or flagger training is highly preferred;
• – Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project safety goals.
