Activities

  • Monitor Contractor and Subcontractors activities and performance, providing support, advice and guidance required to maintain safe and efficient operations, in line with the Upstream HSE Plan, contractors HSE Plan and HSEMS and contractual obligations.
  • Represent Company and advise Contractor on HSE-related topics during weekly construction meetings.
  • Contribute to safety studies, audits and reviews, including MoC as required.
  • Participate in review of Contractors safe systems of work, including hazard ID, PTW, Risk Assessment & management techniques & TBT’s.
  • Support Contractor in incident investigation and ensure robustness of the entire process.
  • Ensure Contractors record and report accurate HSE statistics, and act as focal point for timely and quality HSE reporting to the Project.
  • Support HSE Initiatives and Programs and ensure effective ownership by Contractor to achieve desired results.
  • Support HSE assurance activity, ensure audit reports, progress reports and HSE performance reports are circulated to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Steer and ensure that major risks arising from construction activities are mitigated by robust control measures, in activities such as transportation safety (>400 movements) and heavy lifting with floating cranes (100T capacity). Context and environment The Golfihno-Atum project involves the construction of two LNG trains onshore in the Northern Area of Mozambique. These trains will process over 2 BCF of gas daily from an offshore subsea gathering facility and wells located 40 km from the LNG trains. The well construction team will be mostly located in the company’s main office in the Capital city, Maputo. Logistics, QA/QC, HSE and other support functions will be provided out of the city of Pemba in the Northern part of Mozambique, where the company maintains a 9-hectare logistics base. It is planned to use one drill ship for the campaign. The wells are in 700 to 1400 m water depth location. Well depth below mud line varies from 2000 m to 3150 m. The current well architecture includes a 36” x 20” x 14” x 10-3/4” casing/liner scheme. Accountabilities
  • Management of HSE scope delivery and team during the project execution phase. Safe and on time delivery of the HSE scope of work.
  • Ensure compliance with Company HSE requirements within all work activities. Qualifications/Experience required
  • Minimum 5 years within the Oil & Gas industry and related HSE experience. With a recognized HSE qualification.
  • Ability to participate in HSE Investigations to establish actual Root Causes, roll out learnings and conduct detailed HSE Audits.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with capability to train, coach, support and successfully influence at various levels (including contractors).
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with contractors and contractor personnel and progress collaborative problem solving.
  • Fluency in the English language and capable to represent the project in front of all stakeholders in a professional and organized manner.
  • Current BOSIET and OGUK Medical certification.
