Duties & Responsibilities |
Cost Control
- Ensure that HR budgets are adhered to
- Reduce recruitment costs
HR Processes & Information Management
- Provide Human Resource framework and ensure accessibility to all employees.
- In consultation with Human Resource Manager develop efficient administrative systems and management for best practice service to our employees.
- Influence, advise and guide line managers on various HR matters
- Providing a reliable and timeous HR data
- Compile weekly & monthly reports
- Assist in reviewing and updating of all HR policies & procedures to ensure alignment to legislation and internal processes.
- Maintain the IR tracker/report
- Ensure adherence to recruitment & disciplinary processes
- Management & update Org. Structure
Business Partnering
- Render consultative services to all employees on HR practice
- Promote continuous training and update on HR processes
- Provide HR support and ensure accessibility to all employees
Recruitment
- Complete Pre -authorisation documentation for all appointments
- Prepare and place job advertisements
- Liaise with various recruitment agencies in order to attract human resources into the organization
- Short-list applications by comparing candidates against job-relevant criteria
- Conducting competency based interviews
- Conduct necessary checks required (qualifications, criminal & reference checks)
- Advice management on remuneration packages upon offer, based on the budget and current salary scale
- Ensure the drawing up of Employment contracts
- Conducting Exit interviews
- Ensure that proper termination process is followed
- Regret unsuccessful applicants
Performance Management
- Co-ordinate all activities relating to performance management implementation Ensure that Performance agreements for all manager are completed, signed and filed
- Monitor the probation review on a monthly basis
- Assist with formulating development plans based on the performance agreements
- Reinforce the implementation of the PIP Process
- Advise management on performance management processes & procedures
Training & Development
- Identify skills gap and advise management on training needs
- Implement the succession plan in consultation with management
- Assist in formulation of training budget
- Arrange training based on the operations requirements
- Conduct training on HR processes for all new employees and promotions (managerial level)
Industrial Relations
- Draw up of charge sheets, warnings, notices, etc
- Facilitate disciplinary enquiries, appeals, grievances and CCMA/NBCRF cases
- Update the IR database
- Advise employees and management on disciplinary processes and procedures
- Attend CCMA/NBCRF when require
- Liaise with Union officials and representatives
Employee Assistance Programme
- Assist management and advise them on internal employee assistance programmes and the process followed
- Arrange counselling when the need arise
- Assist management with the management of absenteeism
- Implementation of the employee wellness program on site
- Ensure that Annual medicals are conducted and link it to the recruitment process

Minimum Requirements |
- Minimum Qualification: 3 year HR qualification or equivalent
- Prior experience: 3 years or more
- Experience within the distribution and logistics sector will be an added advantage.
