MOZQUARRIES is recruiting one (1) Human Resources Assistant and Administration for Pemba, Cabo Delgado.

Primary responsibility:

The Human Resources Assistant and Administration supports the HR and Administration Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth execution of administrative and operational tasks. This role includes maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, supporting payroll processes, and performing general administrative duties, ensuring HR operations run efficiently and in compliance with company policies and labour legislation.

Duties and responsibilities:

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Assist with posting job vacancies and organizing recruitment processes.
  • Support preliminary screening of applications and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees, ensuring all documents and internal procedures are followed.

Personnel Management

  • Assist with updating employee records and HR files.
  • Support the preparation and updating of job descriptions and internal documentation.
  • Prepare warning and disciplinary templates under the guidance of the HR Manager.

Employee Records Management

  • Maintain accurate and organized physical and electronic employee files.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all employee information.
  • Assist with payroll inputs, including hours worked, leave, and absences.
  • Support the organization of pre-employment and periodic medical checks, in coordination with Health & Safety.

Administration and Office Support

  • Perform general administrative tasks for the HR department.
  • Manage electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Support the preparation of meetings, minutes, and internal communications.
  • Welcome and assist visitors at the Pemba office.
  • Assist with the management of office supplies.

Skills and competencies:

  • Strong Knowledge of labour legislation and HR administrative procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese (spoken and written).
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and proactive attitude.

Education & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Human Resources and Administration Assistant roles, or similar positions.
  • Previous experience supporting recruitment, personnel administration and payroll inputs is an advantage.
  • Experience working in industrial, construction, or extractive environments will be considered an asset.
