Job Purpose

The HR Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to the People, Talent & Culture (PTC) department in Mozambique. The role requires strong HR generalist experience, including hands-on involvement in recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, contract administration, payroll coordination, and employee records management. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient execution of daily HR operations while ensuring compliance with internal policies and Mozambican labour legislation. The HR Coordinator must have solid exposure to payroll systems and processes and be capable of supporting the HR Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment and Selection

  • Support full-cycle recruitment in coordination with the HR Manager.
  • Assist in reviewing and posting job advertisements.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews and testing.
  • Support logistics for recruitment processes.
  • Conduct initial screening of candidates when delegated.
  • Assist with reference and background checks.
  • Prepare offer letters and coordinate onboarding documentation.

Document Processing

  • Prepare and submit the Peace Parks Foundation nominal List, including branches.
  • Preparing letters and statements for the bank and other institutions.
  • Support in organising documentation for visas and work permits for expatriate employees.

Contractual Changes

  • Provide support in the process of job changes, promotions, dismissals, and other types of staff movement, observing the applicable guidelines and procedures.
  • Monitor contract timelines and initiate renewal or exit processes in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate processing and recordkeeping of all changes in employee status.

PTC Database management & Reporting

  • Ensure that the Peace Parks Foundation – Mozambique organisational chart is duly updated.
  • Ensuring employee files are up to date and organised.
  • Assist in preparing HR metrics, reports, and summaries for internal use or audits.

Operational and Strategic Support

  • Assist in the implementation of HR initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing support for daily HR operations.
  • Support training and development logistics and planning.

Industrial Relations (IR)

  • Support with employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations in Mozambique.

Employee Wellness & Engagement

  • Assist in organising staff engagement activities and wellbeing campaigns.
  • Provide support for initiatives aimed at improving workplace culture and employee satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Administration, or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of payroll software is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR disciplines, including payroll systems & processing, employee wellness, recruitment, conflict management, and training & development.
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to think analytically and present information accordingly.
  • Results-focused and deadline-oriented.
  • Proficiency in English is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Mozambican labour legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Written communication skills for correspondence, reports and HR content.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Discretion, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Mozambican nationality.
