About Us: Love Justice International (LJI) is a Christian nonprofit organization compelled by God’s love to fight the world’s greatest injustices. We fight injustice in two primary ways: through our expanding anti-human trafficking work and by caring for orphaned and abandoned children. We currently work throughout Asia and Africa. In Mozambique we work through a partnership with Oasis Mozambique.
Anti-Trafficking Program Overview: LJI’s anti-human trafficking model focuses on transit monitoring. We identify, intercept, and assist trafficking victims as they are being transported—when victims and traffickers are the most visible and open to detection—and before they reach the destination where victims will be sold, hidden, and abused. Because the crime of trafficking has already commenced, we have access to actionable intelligence that can be used to assist police in the apprehension of suspects and to understand trafficking methods. To date, we have intercepted over 58,000 individuals to prevent them from being trafficked. More than 1,000 arrests have stemmed from our anti trafficking work with 36% of closed cases resulting in convictions.
Position Overview: LJI is looking to contract a well-respected anti-human trafficking expert in Mozambique to independently peer review data from our intercept cases and make a ruling on the question, “do you believe this person was at high risk of being trafficked?”
Expectations: We would require the consultant with relevant experience to receive training from LJI on our intercept verification process (our internal process of verifying impact), then ask the expert to review 100 cases and record the reviews in a Google spreadsheet, have a consultation meeting with LJI after completion of the review, and provide a final report or findings. We would (1) welcome any feedback on our verification process and (2) welcome the expert to use additional tools or methods to make a ruling on the questions above. We estimate that this project (training and consultation included) could take anywhere from 38-40 hours.
