Responsibilities:

Logistics Operations Management

• Oversee daily shipping, warehousing, inventory and delivery activities to achieve safe and efficient execution.
• Oversee end-to-end shipping and delivery operations, including coordination of warehouse personnel and logistics activities.
• Manage loading, unloading, route planning and dispatching of materials to support timely and efficient deliveries.
• Supervise inventory control and maintain effective communication with carriers, suppliers, warehouses, customs brokers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor daily operations and evaluate performance in scheduling, dispatch and goods movement.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during transportation and material handling.

Logistics Strategy and Solution Design

• Develop fit-for-purpose logistics models and solutions aligned with local operations, client requirements and business needs.
• Support development of the logistics footprint by identifying key markets, locations and opportunities.
• Build local logistics intelligence through engagement with 3PLs, transporters, ports, storage providers and brokers.
• Define and propose operating models, including local or international providers, hubs and free zones.
• Design and optimise in-country and regional solutions aligned with sales forecasts, customer requirements and project needs.
• Translate delivery requirements into practical specifications, routes and constraints.
• Evaluate cost, lead time, risk and modal options, develop risk mitigation plans, and support sourcing decisions.

Supplier, Implementation and Performance Management

• Build a reliable provider base and ensure planned solutions are effectively implemented and improved.
• Support development and management of logistics supplier panels with sourcing teams.
• Identify, assess, qualify and rank providers based on cost, service quality and compliance with specifications.
• Contribute to supplier audits, performance management and continuous improvement.
• Oversee implementation of logistics solutions and monitor supplier performance using dashboards and KPIs.
• Coordinate with export logistics teams to align planned solutions and actual execution.
• Facilitate operational handovers through SOPs and guidance and lead post-delivery reviews and corrective actions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Business Support

• Act as the key logistics interface for Mozambique and provide clear operational, commercial and market insight.
• Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders and provide updates on operations and project progress.
• Communicate logistics strategies, supplier developments and market intelligence through reports, presentations and internal forums.
• Act as Road Safety Coordinator, including policy development, implementation and review in coordination with clients.
• Maintain and share country-specific intelligence on logistics risks, opportunities and market developments.
• Support business development and provide logistics input for commercial activities.
• Advise Sales and Logistics teams on costs, routing and operational risks, and benchmark relevant market practices.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain, transport, operations or a related discipline.
• Demonstrable experience managing end-to-end logistics, shipping, warehousing, transport and inventory activities.
• Experience coordinating carriers, suppliers, customs brokers, warehouses and other third-party providers.
• Ability to evaluate logistics costs, lead times, routes, operating risks and service performance.
• Experience using SOPs, dashboards and KPIs to manage implementation and continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder communication, reporting, negotiation and problem-solving capability.
• Working knowledge of QHSE, road safety and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to logistics operations.
