This role focuses on educating children aged 7-9 through the International Primary Curriculum in a safe, tech-enhanced environment. The teacher drives academic growth in literacy and numeracy while maintaining meticulous records and proactive communication with parents and staff. Additionally, the position requires leadership in school discipline, athletic coaching, and the coordination of cultural and interhouse activities.
Responsabilidades
- Prepare and plan lessons with clear objectives and structures appropriate for Milepost Two (Years 3-4) or Milepost Three (Years 5-7), keeping a weekly planner and marking work to monitor progress
- Research and implement engaging teaching methods, utilizing visual aids and Smart Board technology to present topics effectively and make learning more interactive
- Identify individual learning difficulties and adapt their approach for both groups and individuals to optimize learning, while regularly marking and assessing all work to track student progress
- Manage the research, planning, and execution of specialized school-wide programs, specifically International Week and Book Week, by developing themed activities and educational content
- Uphold professionalism and collaborative excellence by representing the school ethically in the community, critically self-evaluating teaching methods to improve instructional effectiveness, and fostering productive, positive relationships with colleagues
- Maintain meticulous records of parent correspondence, academic assessments, incident reports, and attendance, including a dedicated notebook for ongoing teacher-parent communication
- Foster strong parent relations through an “open-door” policy, afternoon conferences, and the delivery of detailed bi-annual student reports designed to encourage constructive feedback
- Ensure governance and discipline by attending weekly staff and headteacher meetings and maintaining school-wide order through strict playground supervision and enforcement of disciplinary policies
- Research and plan theme-based lessons covering History, Geography, Science, and Art, ensuring tasks achieve IPC objectives while remaining appropriately challenging for each child’s capability
- Implement daily reading, cursive handwriting instruction, and grammar exercises to extend oral and written comprehension, supported by age-appropriate homework
- Introduce new mathematical concepts and problem-solving activities that build on prior skills, encouraging students to work systematically and develop independent confidence
- Extend computer literacy by teaching software like PowerPoint for findings, while utilizing Smart Boards and custom-designed resources to enhance classroom learning
- Plan and execute regular assessment activities alongside the design and printing of specialized worksheets to monitor and support academic growth.
Qualificações
- A Higher Diploma in Education or a Bachelor of Education Degree (Essential)
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of teaching experience within the relevant age groups (Essential)
- Membership in a recognized professional teaching organization is preferred.
Habilidades e Experiência
- Excellent written and verbal English ability (Essential)
- Sound knowledge of Literacy, Numeracy, and IPC subject matter
- Ability to evaluate own teaching critically and improve effectiveness
- Strong interpersonal skills for managing parent and colleague relationships.
