National Programme Officer_Cabo Delgado
Peace promotion is enshrined in the Swiss Federal Constitution as a priority of Switzerland’s foreign policy. Thanks to its neutrality, humanitarian tradition, and long-standing expertise, Switzerland enjoys a high degree of credibility in this area. The Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD) of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) oversees Peace Programmes around the world.
In Mozambique, the PHRD has been establishing a new Peace Programme since October 2024 as part of the overall Swiss Cooperation Programme. The National Programme Officer (NPO) will be a key team member, actively contributing to the development and implementation of this programme, supporting Switzerland’s efforts to promote dialogue, reconciliation, and respect for human rights.

Responsabilidades
- To support the strategic development, management, and monitoring of the Swiss Peace and Human Rights Programme in Mozambique, with a specific focus on the northern region (particularly Cabo Delgado). The NPO will provide critical context analysis, maintain key stakeholder networks, and ensure the effective implementation of projects
- The position is based at least 50% of the time in Cabo Delgado Province
Qualificações
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Political Science, Conflict Studies, Anthropology, or a related field
- A proven track record in political and conflict analysis in Mozambique, with a thorough understanding of the country’s political, social, economic, and humanitarian dynamics
- A minimum of six years of relevant work experience with an embassy, multilateral/regional organization, think tank, or a national/international NGO/CSO
- Several years of demonstrated work experience in Northern Mozambique, specifically in the field of Peace promotion, with an established network of relevant stakeholders
- Proven experience in project cycle management

- Fluency in written and spoken Portuguese and English
- Willingness to spend at least 50% of the time in Cabo Delgado province
