Job Description
- Research, recommend and purchase quality products and materials according to the functions, departments and company needs and guidelines.
- Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance optimization.
- Analyze and evaluate supplier proposals, taking into consideration price, quality, delivery times, and any other relevant factors to the company.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers, ensuring effective communication and negotiation for favorable terms and conditions.
- Order products, collect all relevant approvals (goods and costs) and request payments ensuring the utilization of the available technology and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy of purchase orders.
- Craft purchase order and inventory reports for manager.
- Analyze suppliers’ competitors to determine what products are featured in stores, catalogs, and local and international suppliers.
- Working within the procurement team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back-ordered or missing products.
- Effectively communicating with the stakeholders to ensure all orders are accurate.
- Delivering a weekly purchase order report to the manager that indicates the invoice number for all closed orders.
- Assess the quality of goods received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- Resolve discrepancies and issues in invoices and purchase orders.
- Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers, such as late deliveries, quality concerns, or contractual non-compliance, ensuring a satisfactory resolution that aligns with the organization’s goals.
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for best pricing.
- Ensure goods were timely delivery.
- Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
- Champion process improvement initiatives.
- Implement and maintain supplier performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations to drive continuous improvement in supplier relationships and performance.
- Adhere to ethical and sustainable procurement practices, considering factors such as fair trade, environmental impact, and social responsibility.
- Contribute to the HSSE company targets. Identify hazards, near misses and anything that can impact negatively on the HSSE of all employees.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Preferable: Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., Statistics, Commerce, Business Management, Economics, Math, or Industrial Engineering)
- Preferable: 3 years’ experience with Procurement
- Analytical and math skills
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and tight timelines.
- Purchasing and inventory management skills
- Stakeholder’s management capacity
