Job Summary

Product controller – Global Markets and Treasury plays a key role in ensuring an independent validation, substantiation and reporting of financial information. In addition, they provide insights and analysis from the information drawn.
  • Substantiation and reporting of Markets & Treasury Statement of Comprehensive Income (Balance Sheet)
  • Substantiation and reporting of Markets and Treasury Financial Position (P&L)
  • Monitoring trading activity for compliance with related suitable policies.
  • Providing management with technical and operational analysis of the trading activities
  • Providing insights being drawn from the data being generated and happenings in the Global Markets and Treasury industry.

    Job Description

    P&L and Balance sheet substantiation:

    • Reporting of daily, monthly and year to date P&L for assigned desks.

    • Ensure the assigned portfolio is accurately represented within the general ledger.

    • Ensure correct fair valuation of the products handled in the assigned desk.

    • Provide daily, monthly, and quarterly beneficial commercial analysis of Foreign Exchange Trading

    • Build good working relationships with stakeholders.

    • Ensure compliance of trading limits for the assigned desk

    • Regular (Daily, weekly, or Monthly) substantiation of balance sheet line items affecting Global Markets & Treasury. This includes investigating all breaks and resolving them in a timely manner.

    • Analyze and report on material adjustments to the P&L, including discrepancies to the Front Office flash.

    • Meet team’s KPI and SLA

    • Provide appropriate P&L and balance sheet commentary / analysis.

    • Attend to ad hoc queries from the traders and other infrastructure partners relating to trading revenue and the Balance Sheet

    • Timely and accurate submission of returns to regulatory authorities (CBM, etc.)

    • Perform month end processes (Bid-Offer, Price testing etc.)

    • Agree positions and results between Front and back-office systems and submit them for sign off at the appropriate level.

    • Monitor trading activity for compliance with various related policies.

    Governance and control:

    • Circulate key weekly & monthly management information to senior management.

    • Ensure clean audit results from internal and external reviews.

    • Identify and drive process re-engineering constantly for control improvement and process efficiency.

    • Perform Critical Process Assessments and participate in continual enhancement of key Finance risk metrics.

    • Participate in essential administration tasks required in the department  

    Education

    Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Financial Sciences (Required)
