Job Summary
The Product Risk Officer is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), ensuring that all products introduced, amended, or withdrawn within the business comply with internal governance standards, regulatory expectations, and strategic risk frameworks. This role provides critical oversight and coordination across product development, risk assessment, remediation, and governance reporting.
Job Description
Product Development Lifecycle Oversight

Lead the Proposal and Development stages of new products.

Guide business to craft and submit comprehensive product papers for authorization.

Ensure fulfillment of pre- and post-launch conditions within defined timelines.

Coordinate post-launch product risk reviews and drive remediation efforts.
Governance and Compliance

Ensure completeness and accuracy of the product register.

Ownership of the PRGC pack, minutes and all meeting logistics in line with the approved ToR

Assure final sign-off from key risk areas and stakeholders before tabling reviews/Amendments/proposals at the PRGC (Product Risk Governance Committee).

Escalate breaches and overdue closures to the PRGC and ensure timely resolution.
Risk Remediation and Control Environment

Address findings from internal audits, regulatory reviews, and control environment assessments.

Track and report on product risk events, including dormant products requiring re-approval..
Product Risk KI monitoring and reporting

Monthly measurement of product risk KRI’s in line with agreed standards;

Assure all KRI’s rated outside appetite have specific action plans for remediation;

Monthly report KRI’s information to compliance as part of Conduct Risk monitoring.

Ensure governance and end to end process of products are followed
Strategic Alignment

Align product risk practices with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and Operational and Resilience Risk Management Framework (ORRMF).

Enhance oversight capacity and stakeholder engagement across the product lifecycle.
Stakeholder Management
-
Be interlocutor between country and center with regards to NAPA & Product Risk reporting
-
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.

Present regular updates to senior leadership, including progress reports, risk assessments, and resource utilization
Education
