In Mozambique, UNICEF works in a complex emergency and development context marked by conflict in Cabo Delgado, natural disasters, and chronic vulnerabilities.
NutriNorte is a multi-sectoral programme launched in February 2024 by UNICEF, the European Union (EU), and the Government of Mozambique to reduce stunting in Cabo Delgado, Nampula, and Zambézia. It delivers health and nutrition, WASH, and social behavior change interventions at the community level. In Cabo Delgado, NutriNorte targets Ancuabe, Balama, Chiure, and Namuno districts, using flexible approaches like integrated mobile brigades to reach remote and displaced populations, while aligning humanitarian and government systems to support long-term resilience and development.
Purpose for the job:
Reporting to the Nutrition Manager (P4) and with an indirect reporting line to the Pemba based Health and Nutrition manager (P3), the Programme Officer (NutriNorte) P2 will play a critical role in ensuring effective implementation, coordination, and monitoring of integrated community-level multisectoral nutrition interventions in NutriNorte, with a focus on supporting programme implementation, ensuring convergence across health, nutrition, WASH and SBC, while supporting integrated programming, strong partner engagement, and compliance with donor requirements

Minimum requirements
- Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in international development, social sciences, sociology, public health, project management, and any other related fields is required.
- Work Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience in nutrition programme/project management, preferably in humanitarian and development settings is required.
- Skills: Project Management, Programme Management and Coordination
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
Desirables
- A working knowledge of Portuguese is strongly preferred. Knowledge of another Latin language is an asset. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- Experience with grant management, partner coordination, and donor reporting is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with implementation of large EU grants is an advantage.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF.
