Job Requisition ID
Senior Buyer position will be based in Sasol Temane. The candidate will be responsible for normal and strategic purchasing activities to support Sasol Temane plants and ensure cost-effective, timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality and supplier performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that purchasing of goods and services is done through proper tender process in line with Sasol procurement procedures and policies.
- Achieve the lowest total cost supply base and sourcing competitiveness for the portfolio, through the procurement process.
- Proactively ensure that critical goods and services purchases are delivered on time and in full and minimize the impact of overdue and partial deliveries.
- Execute the procurement process to ensure that cycle time (average PR to PO conversion time) requirements are met.
- Interpret demand signals to create purchase orders for services and goods and ensure timely PO delivery and close-out.
- Execute all expediting activities for Pos created. Critical/key items proactively expedited and delivered on time.
- Be able to resolve issues related to late/overdue deliveries in a timely manner.
- Be accountable for timely escalation with suppliers in cases of delivery time or quality breaches.
- Manage suppliers within portfolio of work and ensure suppliers deliver and adhere to quality, legislative and/ or safety requirements.
- Work on achieving savings by conducting negotiations with suppliers without any supervision.
