Our client in Pemba is looking for Senior Community Liaison Officer to join their team within the Minning Sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with community leaders, traditional authorities and relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate community consultations, meetings, forums and grievance mechanisms.
- Coordinate community outreach initiatives, awareness campaigns and social activities.
- Identify and collaborate with community groups, associations and local institutions to support company social programs.
- Support the design, coordination and monitoring of community development initiatives, including livelihood support, education, health and small business development programs.
- Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, stakeholder feedback, issues and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Community Development, Anthropology, Sociology, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement or social performance — preferably in mining or natural resources sector.
- Demonstrated experience in working with rural communities and local governance structures.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of local languages.
