Our client in Pemba is looking for Senior Community Liaison Officer to join their team within the Minning Sector.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with community leaders, traditional authorities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate community consultations, meetings, forums and grievance mechanisms.
  • Coordinate community outreach initiatives, awareness campaigns and social activities.
  • Identify and collaborate with community groups, associations and local institutions to support company social programs.
  • Support the design, coordination and monitoring of community development initiatives, including livelihood support, education, health and small business development programs.
  • Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, stakeholder feedback, issues and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Community Development, Anthropology, Sociology, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement or social performance — preferably in mining or natural resources sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with rural communities and local governance structures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of local languages.
