We are looking for a team player, dynamic and youth oriented equipped with empathy, knowledge and youth training methods. The Technical Adviser is part of our African programme team and will be based in the country office in Maputo. She/he reports directly to the National Coordinator (NC) based in Maputo and will be working in coordination with our Team in Zimbabwe.
Your Responsibilities
- To support local project partners in designing and assess activities and trainings in sustainable livelihoods in and outside Mozambique. Youth participation, methodological diversity and Psychosocial Support approaches will be decisive here.
- To implement and further develop the Regional Strategy of tdhs in Mozambique around SLH with an emphasis on agroecology, green/blue economies and VET. Experience in gender-transformative work and/or M&E systems is a plus.
- To help partner organizations strengthen and further develop training manuals, tools and methods around SLH with a special focus on youth as a primary target group
- To strengthen and help develop partner networks as well as to create opportunities for experience sharing (Communities of Practice).
- To help develop and support implementation of advocacy strategies on SLH in Mozambique and beyond in Southern Africa
- To work closely with national coordinator in Maputo, the African team in Harare and the SLH team in Switzerland.
Your Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a holder of a degree in Social Sciences, Ecological Agriculture or an equivalent level of education from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years technical work experience for a reputable non-governmental organization in: 1) agroecological production, local markets and sustainable food systems, and/or 2) VET-programmes, job-integration and income-generation.
- Must have an affinity for youth work, youth realities, youth friendly methods and environments.
- Experience in designing, planning, implementing trainings around sustainable livelihoods.
- Excellent spoken and written English and Portuguese skills.
- Experience and interest in working with local, national and international partners and knowledge of the national NGO networks in and outside Mozambique.
- Willingness to travel several times per year within and outside Mozambique.
