Paratus Mozambique currently has a vacancy for a Technical Director.

The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end technology strategy and operations across core network, transmission, access (FTTx/GPON, wireless), and service platforms, ensuring availability, performance, security, and regulatory compliance (INCM). The role includes direct leadership of NOC/Operations, capacity planning, vendor & CAPEX/OPEX management, and delivery of new products and projects for enterprise and residential customers.

The minimum requirements for the position are as follows:

  • 12+ years’ experience in telecom/ISP, with 5+ years in a senior technical leadership role (Director/Head/CTO) in an operator or major ISP.
  • Proven expertise across IP/MPLS (BGP/OSPF, QoS), mobile core (EPC/IMS) or fixed-core, RAN/LTE/5G exposure, FTTx/GPON, DWDM/Metro-Ethernet, and data centre/virtualization.
  • Track record running a 24/7 NOC, ITIL (incident/problem/change), SLO/SLAs, and major incident management.
  • Network/service security exposure; continuity/DR; regulatory & licensing compliance (INCM).
  • Strong vendor & contract management (RFPs, SLAs), and CAPEX/OPEX governance.
  • Team leadership: hiring, mentoring, performance management, safety culture.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Telecoms, Electrical, Computer) or equivalent.

Added advantages (nice to have): SD-WAN; automation (Netconf/Ansible); cloud/virtualization (VMware/KVM, containers/K8s); MVNO/LEO-satellite integrations; certifications (CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, ITIL, PMP/Prince2).
