The Senior QAQC Material Specialist is responsible for ensuring all project materials comply with approved specifications, codes, and standards through effective quality control, inspection, and documentation management across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QAQC activities related to material procurement, inspection, certification, and compliance
- Review and approve material specifications, datasheets, MRPs, and purchase orders
- Ensure materials comply with project requirements, client specifications, and applicable standards (ASTM, ASME, API, ISO)
- Review and verify Mill Test Certificates (MTCs), material traceability, and compliance documentation
- Coordinate third‑party inspections, FATs, vendor surveillance, and audits
- Monitor material receiving inspections, storage, preservation, and handling at site
- Manage material NCRs, deviations, and corrective/preventive actions
- Interface with engineering, procurement, construction, vendors, and clients on material quality matters
- Maintain QAQC records, material dossiers, and final documentation
- Mentor and guide QAQC material specialists and inspectors
- Support internal, external, and client quality audits and project close‑out activities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Quality certifications (CSWIP, NDT, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are an advantage
Experience
- 10-15+ years of experience in QAQC materials within Oil & Gas / EPC projects
- Strong exposure to material inspection, certification, and vendor quality management
- Experience with offshore, onshore, or fabrication yard projects preferred
